The New Author is for those of us who are or trying to become authors; a place to share thoughts, tips, and ideas. There is an overwhelming amount of information about the world of writing on the internet - we just want simple ways to find good, accurate information and hopefully realize our goal of having our work published. Time To Celebrate!

Today we are celebrating!!  What are we celebrating?

First, today is my son's 8th birthday so cupcakes for everyone!

Second, I have been talking to Bernard and we are very close to starting our first New Author workshop. I invite you to read his introduction to the workshop here .

I have a birthday party to attend so to close out this short post I have a question for you; what is your favorite birthday memory?

Happy Happy Happy B'day Brian's son!! 8 is great! (Okay..I know..corny.)

Being a twin I have many special birthday memories...but I want to share a story about a birthday that never happened. I have 3 sisters (twin included) and 1 brother, that's 5 of us total. My mom worked 5 (yes 5) jobs, attended all our school functions, band functions, cheerleading functions, baseball functions and was always there when we were sick...whewww...she was the true "Wonder Woman". When my mom became ill we would sit and discuss times when we were little and things such as birthday parties, Christmas (holidays, etc) and things of that nature. Mom said, "Well remember on your Sweet Sixteen Birthday..." My sister and I stopped her and said, "Mom...we didn't have a Sweet Sixteen Birthday party. That was Regina (who was the oldest next to us)." Mom replied, "Well hell, we never could keep all of you kids straight anyways." My sister and I didn't think it sad we thought it was hilarious. Mom and Dad did call all of us each other's names but getting birthdays mixed up...that was priceless.

Happy eight birthday to your son Brian.

I'm looking forward to the workshops and working with you. I hope everyone out there who has an interest can get something valuable form them.

Ang - I hope you all hold on to memories like this. My mom and dad had 3 boys and she always called us each others name. Mom's are great and this is a perfect reason why.

Angie - Thank you. He had a great time.

Eric - Thank you. Don't worry, the cake was really good.

Bernard - All of the projects we have going on should prove to be very interesting.
